I’m Back!!!

Bismillaah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem

Assalaamu ‘alykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh to my dear sisters and brothers in Islaam

Deepest deepest apologies I havent been updating, its been what…..6 months!!! wow subhaan Allaah time really just passes so quickly and that is a minor sign of the Day of Judgement. May Allaah ‘azza wa jall put much barakah (blessings) in our time ameen thumma ameen.

To all those who left comments sorry I didnt reply, my excuses for not updating: I actually forgot my password for my blog so couldnt access it. I didnt have internet access; I decided to cancel my connection at home so that I can be more productive in my time as I tended to spend a lot of time surfing, alhamdhu lillaah I did have a lot more time for other things but I still missed surfing the internet world. I realised how much I relyed on internet for things like research, gaining ‘ilm, keeping up with friends, checking bank accounts, planning and so much more.
Im also actually bored of this blog, I created another one but then decided I didnt like that so might just create another one later on. Im one of those people who doesnt like the same thing for too long, but thought Id come back to my blog and post up anything albeit random. So prepare to hear a lot more of my rants (inshaa Allaah beneficial) b’ithnillaah.

Anyway thats it for this post.

Thanks for reading
ma’ alf salaama :)

My Mother, My Best Friend

Bismillaah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem

mothers-love-never-grows-old.gif

Last summer my mother went back home on urgent trip to see my uncle who has cancer for which I ask you all to make du’a that Allaah ‘azza wa jall gives him shifaa’ and long life so that he can see his children grow up and support them.

She was away for about 3 months but it felt like a lifetime. I realised in my mothers absence how I missed the simplest of things I took for granted – coming home and calling for her and giving my salaams to her and asking how she is, I missed those days I would lie down and snuggle up beside her. I missed kissing her beautiful forehead and waking up in the morning to beat her to make her breakfast. I missed her love, care and warmth, her soft touch and gentle looks.

My relationship with my mother improved drastically when I started to practice and learn about Islam and the rights my mother has over me, it is the love of Allaah ‘azza wa jall that drew me ever so closer to my mother especially as my father returned to Allaah 13 years ago (may Allaah have mercy on his dear soul and grant him light in his grave ameen).

I was thinking about the concept of friendship, I have really amazing friends alhamdhu lillaah but I realised that no one can be a better friend than ones own mother, the title of ‘Best Friend’ truly belongs to my mother.

When I think of a friend I think of someone who is always there for you no matter what you do and say and can forgive you and overlook your faults, who loves you no matter what, a friend is someone you carry in your heart whereever you go, who brings you happiness and remembers you, someone you miss when they are absent from you, someone you can open up to and talk to. I can proudly say my mother fits these qualities the best and she gives more than that, she gives unconditional love and care, she has been there for me the second I was born.

Parents are our doors to jannah, by serving them is a way to enter jannah insha Allaah and this is why I fear to have that second door to jannah shut and I pray Allaah assists me to take advantage of the time I have to serve my mother and please Allaah ‘azza wa jall.

Friends can replace you (usually), a company you work for so hard can easily replace you but your family – they can never replace you and a mother you can never replace – I know there are people out there who dont have good relationships with their parents or do not speak to their parents or hate them (may Allaah protect us from this) but I pray that Allaah brings you closer and places mercy in your hearts so that you can love each other and for those who dont have parents may Allaah ‘azza wa jall reunite you in Jannah ameen.

I have a frame with a poem about mothers, its short but sweet:

Mother

To one who bears the sweetest name
and adds luster to the same,
long life to her for there is no other
than my dear mother.

I once bought a frame with a poem about family because I liked the meaning of it:

A special family

Families have their arguments
some can go on for days,
We’re all different personalities
in different funny ways

But we’ve got one thing in common
something we all share,
we’re blood and should remember this
we’re family and we care.

It’s a thing we should cherish
whatever at all cost,
without my family around me
I know I would be lost.

Bake a HUMBLE pie

Bismillaah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem

If anyone knows who Muhammad Alshareef is you will know he is someone calling to Allaah is so many fabulous ways. Amongst the many things he mashaa Allaah does is to send out weekly reminders if you subscribe to recieve them. Below is one from amongst the many amazing reminders titled ‘Bake a HUMBLE pie’:

From the Qur’an:

‘And give glad tidings to the humble. Those whose hearts, when Allah is mentioned, are filled with fear, who show patient perseverance over their afflictions, keep up regular prayer, and
spend (in charity) out of what We have bestowed upon them.’ (22:35)

[Lessons from this verse] There are four ingredients to humility for the sake of Allah:

1. A heart conscious of Allah;
2. Having patience during afflictions;
3. Regular in Salah; and
4. Giving charity.

Are you missing an ingredient? Go add it today!

My sister

Bismillaah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem

My beautiful sister Aasiyah sent this to me, subhaanAllaah I loved it and inshaa Allaah want to send the same message to all my dear beloved sisters who mean something to me :) Inshaa Allaah you can all share it with those sisters that mean something to you too.

Bismillaah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem

I have a habit of keeping messages I like or messages that carry lessons or remind me of certain things. Anyway I was going through my messages and came across a message my beautiful sister umm mohsin sent me and I really liked the way she said it:

I love you darling, I hope and pray I get to jannat. One of the things I’ll love inshaAllah is visiting you…may Allah protect the love we have for each other xx

Its what she said that really touched me, it gives hope of attaining jannat (by working for it of course) and reminds me that Al-hamdhu lillaah I have dear friends and sisters in my life who are just absolutely amazing.

To my dear sister umm mohsin, I know you read my blog maybe not recently as you are going through difficulties but know that you are in my du’as and I pray Allaah ‘azza wa jall continues to give you sabr to endure the trials of life and either rectifies your affairs and grants you happiness and jannatul firdaws ameen

Another message I really like contains a soothing du’a:

Let me share with you a beautiful prayer:
O Allah when I lose hope when my plans have come to nothing, help me to remember that Your love is always greater than my disappointments and Your plans for my life are better than my dreams ameen

Whenever Im feeling down about things, I like to read this du’a and it gives me comfort and removes any sadness in my heart because I know Allaah is the one who has complete knowledge of our affairs and never forsakes us if we call to Him and trust in Him.
