Background
Anwar al-Awlaki is a Muslim scholar who was born in New Mexico. His parents are from Yemen, where he lived for eleven years and received the early part of his Islamic education.
Imam Anwar al-Awlaki served as an Imam in Colorado, California, and later in the Washington, D.C. area where he headed the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center and was also the Muslim Chaplain at George Washington University. He is in Yemen, where he was studying Shariah with prominent scholars, as he was banned from re-entering the United States despite being a U.S. citizen. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, a M.A. in Education Leadership from San Diego State University and was working on a Doctorate degree in Human Resource Development at George Washington University being denied entry into the U.S. He was residing in Yemen but it is said he is still imprisoned in a prison in San’a, please make du’a that Allah ‘azza wa jall hastens his release and keeps him safe.
These lecture series are based on the book called Mashari ul Ashwaq ila mashari ul ushaq by Ahmad Ibrahim Muhammad al-Dimashqi al-Dumyati also known as Ibn An-Nuhas who died in the Year 814 Hijri/1411 AD.
Today we can see there is a war on Islam; Muslims are called ‘extremists’, ‘fundamentalists’, ‘terrorists’ and so on. As a result, the West has painted a distorted image of Islam as a whole and one such area is jihad. This is a must read for every Muslim for anyone seeking a true understanding of this branch of knowledge as Imam Anwar Al Awlaki gives an indepth look into Jihad, an area that has become so obscure that there are many confusions and misconceptions about it.

have u listened to Imam anwar’s (may Allah hasten his release) cds on Here After ? In certain passages he does explain a few Hadiths that mention time before Allah created Mankind.
I might be wrong, but i do advice u sister to study the knowledge that Allah has revealed for us. and not to indulge in topics that are not of benefit in worshiping AllAh. He is our Creator and He only holds the knowledge of UNSEEN and UNKNOWN.

Im i big listerner of Shaykh Awlaki’s lectures and truly Allah SWT azza wajjal has blessed him with knowlegde may Allah SWT give im endless rewards for his commitment to daw’ah. Just reading your web page has taken me back some what to learn that the shaykh is a prisoner, for what may i ask has he been accused? wallahi everytime true people that emerge in the path of Allah SWT they are hindered by the dwellers of hell fire. Allah SWT knows the reality and this is the shaykhs trial may Allah azza wajjal make is passage, well being and relaese easy and quick and may he be evn strong in faith tommorow then today. Ameen, I am hurt to learn that Allah SWT soldier/slave is entrapped. My dua’s are with him Inshallah.
